Cast Biographies (playing themselves)
Stockton David Smith: A newcomer to the stage, Stockton made his artistic debut on October 6, 2009. His parents are proud of the way he dramatically arrived on the scene (9 lbs, 2 oz, 20 in, full head of dark brown hair). He adds so much to the cast with his newfound smile and now developing laugh. He scores a perfect 10 on the cuddly scale. Ever patient, Stockton is especially loved (sometimes too loved) by senior cast members Kadence and Tayah. His hobbies include sleeping on the set, dining every three hours, cooing, changing wardrobe multiple times daily, and melting the hearts of his audiences everywhere. He received nominations for the Newcomer of the Year and the Best Baby in the Entire World Tony Awards. All the experts called his inevitable honors as the most anticlimactic events since Santa asked a certain reindeer named Rudolph to “guide his sleigh.”
Tayah Smith: Age two, this fiery red-head brings emotion, panache, and adorability to the production. Blending the vocal stylings of Ariel and the dancing elegance of Belle, Tayah is one talented toddler. She relinquished her role as the youngest with grace, preoccupying herself instead with following around and constantly imitating everything her mentor, Kadence, does—with the exception of appreciating indoor plumbing. When not on stage, her favorite pastimes consist of singing without inhibition, coloring on her canvas, biking, swinging, meditating outdoors, having diva fits, and creating culinary concoctions in her cozy kitchen. This prodigious girl can even spell her own name and loves nursery. Her gorgeous hair is a common topic among town, as it sticks out brilliantly in a family of brunettes. Tabloids question if it is her true color. It’s definitely not a rumor that she is very loved by her family.
Kadence Smith: Already among Broadway’s most talented youngsters, this three-year old has added much to her repertoire in 2009: writing and recognizing letters, pedaling her bike sans help, creating artistic masterpieces in all forms of media, and mastering the art of the potty. She is the epitome of joie de vivre. Despite a hectic schedule, she manages to attend preschool training and library music time weekly, as well as her second year of nursery on Sundays. A voracious reader, she constantly spends her “take five” breaks with a stack of books. She loves sharing her expansive and elegant dress-up closet with her protégé Tayah. Kadence participates regularly in tea parties—without the tea. She fully accepts the mantle of the oldest child in the company, knowing the others are always watching. Her parents are proud of her, a shining star in the show business sky and our princess.
Elizabeth “Mommy” Smith: This ravishing matron does an exemplary job leading the talented trio, all ages three and younger. Never getting more than four consecutive hours of sleep (so far), she still manages to keep the theater humming and in tip-top shape. She is active in the community, attending literary gatherings, recipe exchanges, interactive child play sessions, aquatic excursions to Seven Peaks, and coming to the aid of those around her. Elizabeth was a mastermind behind the critically acclaimed Torgesen Family reunion, which brought together nearly 60 of the brightest and most talented performers in the nation to one location for a weeklong extravaganza. She took the traveling company down to perform at Lake Powell. When she and free time find each other (a rare treat), she enjoys reading, walks, and associating with other neighborhood artists. She still serves as Laurels advisor in Young Women and greatly loves the experiences therein. This musical would be in shambles without her poise and nurturing spirit!
David “Daddy” Smith: The lone male in the cast was thrilled when his gender doubled overnight in October. He is still absolutely enraptured by his girls too, who have him wrapped around their little fingers (what prima donnas!). Monthly daddy/daughter rendezvous and mostly weekly husband/wife outings are among his “favorite things.” After seven memorable years at the helm of the BYU Telefund cast (whom he loves dearly!), he assumed a new position as Director of Annual Giving (still with LDS Philanthropies) on January 1st, moving to the new Hinckley Center. Thus far, he enjoys the new horizons, challenges, and experiences. Due to a hiring freeze, he worked two fulltime jobs for the first half of 2009. He moonlights as a blogger for the Utah Jazz website, combining his loves of basketball and writing. Truth be known, the hardest piece to draft each year is this annual Christmas letter! Another offstage love is his calling as 1st counselor in the bishopric. He understandably attributes any successes to his lovely wife and children, his much better half and three stars that make him look so much better (thank goodness!).

We sincerely thank you, the loyal supporters and patrons of this ongoing production. Our family and friends are among our greatest treasures. May this be the Merriest of Christmases! Make sure to get in the queue now for next year’s encore…
