Every Day a New Adventure

It's 5:45 AM and Kadence and I are having a grand time, hugging and writing this blog entry. Lately, she's been pretty hit-and-miss with her daily wake-up time. We can't complain too much, for she's in bed at 7:00 or 7:15 each evening. Tayah is even better, going to bed around 6:30 and sleeping until 7:30 or so (with a clockwork feeding sometime during the 4:00 hour). They're just following our good friend's advice, "Early to bed, early to rise..." What sweet girls!

We had a wonderful, jam-packed weekend. Friday was my day off and we made the most of it, shopping, playing, and cleaning the house. Marc and Marie were able to come down for the weekend and stayed with us that night. It was so great to see the kids! Kadence sure loved playing with them. Elizabeth and I went to our stake's 6:00 AM showing of the Worldwide Leadership training. It was a wonderful meeting with wise counsel regarding the family. How neat to hear President Monson. There's not a sliver of doubt in our minds and hearts that he's our Prophet.

Sunday was amazing. Elizabeth dressed the girls in matching outfits with the exception of Tayah's little baret. Too cute. We had some wonderful meetings, concluding with a special Plan of Salvation fireside for our youth. It was a progressive fireside with the kids going to seven different rooms: Pre-existence, Earth, Temple Marriage, the Spirit World, the Telestial, Terrestrial, and Celestial realms. Our members greeted them to each location and instructed them. They all did a great job. Many thanks to Sara Hansen (the bishop's wife) for making it a special evening for the youth!

We had our first full-fledged FHE with a Kadence-tailored lesson. Now that she'll be two this week, we feel we can make the lessons more for her. Thank heavens for the Gospel art kit. With Valentine's Day in the wings, we thought it fitting to talk about love...especially the Savior's love.
