Utah State Fair

Yesterday was our annual trip to the Utah State Fair, our second in a row with the Wilkins. Here's a group shot, although Kadence wasn't cooperating as much as the other three tykes.

We had to include the huge butter sculpture they do each year. This one was just alright, mainly because they did a Deron Williams one a year or two ago...and you just can't compete with the Utah Jazz!

Here's Elizabeth and our girls admiring some farm animals. We saw cows, oxen, goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, geese, horses, pigs, and even some farmers.

A highlight for Kadence and Maili was the long-awaited train ride together. They loved it and were all smiles (until the ride ended!).

They have this wonderful little farmer's area for the kids to do interactive things. Once they don their farmer's apron and tote a basket, the four girls were able to scoop corn, feed and milk cows, plant seeds, ride a tractor, gather eggs, etc. Toward the end you get to "sell" your goods for a "dollar." You then get to buy something from the country store.

Thanks for such a wonderful time Kevin, Kristi, and the girls!

Later the same day, we got together with about seven other couples from our ward for an enjoyable evening of bowling and dinner. Unfortunately, we forgot the camera. Fortunately, both Elizabeth and I realized how fun bowling is. I even broke 100 both games and she got her promised strike on the last bowl of the second game! We are so grateful for such wonderful friends in a wonderful neighborhood.

We had a great time with you guys! We're lucky to have such great friends and neighbors and it's so fun that our girls are so close in age and in spirit!
